Economical JD Truck Training Centre engines. No V-8 engine will find its way under the hood of a future Dakota. A V-6 engine seems likely and will probably displace at 3.2 liters. That engine size is important as it represents a smaller version of the automaker's venerable 3.6-liter Pentastar engine, one that is suitable for towing. Look for at least one four cylinder gas engine and, with the automaker's relationship with Fiat, a diesel model seems likely too.
Private trucking schools will take their time and won't pressure you. Remember, they want you to enjoy your learning experience so you will recommend their school to others. Trucking companies are hit and miss... some of them may push you and pressure you to keep their agenda alive... it's YOUR privilege to be working there so you BETTER perform. Now not all of them will treat you this way. A lot it will depend on the individual instructors.
When the issue of money is resolved, it's time to decide if the desired school's location will be a good fit for your current situation (i.e. single or married with a family). Are you going to commute daily? If so, how far? Gas can get very costly! Or, are you going to move to attend your choice of Truck driving school? If so, where are you going to reside and at what cost? Some truck driving schools do offer dorms similar to a college campus; but it will obviously raise the cost of attending the institution.
It doesn't matter if you are man or a woman, driving a truck is certain to test all your capacities. Even though people believe that is more of a man's job, there are many women employed in this category. The only disadvantage is that with all the movements on great distances, it will be really hard to have a family. First I like to point out the legal side. This is a BIG ONE. Being a truck driver is fun and you can make a lot, or a ton of money. So what do I mean legal? Because we both know that you need a CDL license to drive... When I say legal we are looking at your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record). Why is this important? If you have 1 too many violations most trucking companies will not hire you. This is what the HR Truck Licence schools do not tell you.
Is there flexibility in traveling while hauling shipment? Yes. You get to choose when and where to stop. The drivers who make the most money have time management so that they can create a more flexible lifestyle for themselves.
All in all we know that you can make a lot of money trucking. At first you will be running right along with the school of hard knocks. But as you go along with it and learn from your mistakes you will become a pro. Trucking will become second nature to you as you already have met the CDL requirements.
